Bolted Joints in Finite Element Models - our first training webinar

Posted by Laurence Marks

Last week we tried something new - our first training webinar. The idea was to cover a single topic (in this case bolted joints) with a 1/2hr presentation, some demonstrations and then follow this up with some self paced tutorials and email support. Pioneers like Mark Cross and his team have made the impossible happen for years, but, I hear you ask, how realistic is multi-physics for the less comitted? It seems that, at last, computing power and simulation software are allowing realistic multiphics simulations to be undertaken more widely.

Atomic Age reborn

Shape optimization has to be the greatest un-used technology in CAE. You’ve been able to do it for years, I even wrote a topology optimiser for Cosmos in the early 90’s (Cosmos Remodelling Algorithm Program – well it amused me at the time). But strangely very few people seem to use a technology which has some obvious benefits.
