Genevac Ltd design and manufacture centrifugal evaporators. They are the world leader in the important market of drug discovery and their equipment can be found in all major Pharmaceutical and Biotech companies.
Roger Lee-Smith, Project Manager, for Genevac Ltd says, “Finite element analysis of components and assemblies, often involving elastomers with large deflections and closing gaps, is required to ensure operator-safety, plus equipment performance and reliability.”
Whilst Genevac Ltd has in-house analysis software, Roger often feels it is more economical in time and money to use a finite analysis expert, particularly when dealing with elastomers and assemblies.
Roger adds, “We have used Laurence Marks, of SSA, for many years and have simply never had cause to look elsewhere.”
“We generally phone Laurence to discuss the task and our requirements, along with the methods open to achieve the data we need. Laurence’s approach to our requirements is down-to-earth and logical, and we know we can just let him get on with it, even when we might describe the task as “awesome”.”
Laurence provides reports that offer facts, rather than methodology, which is very much to Genevac’s preference. Roger confirms, “It allows us to quickly and accurately understand the results; we can then draw our own conclusions regarding the component’s future performance in the design as a whole.”
Roger finishes by saying, “In addition, Laurence is flexible: if needed, he will stay up and work late nights for us!”
