Biomotion Module

As part of many Multi-Body Simulation’s the interaction of the human body is considered. SIMPACK has teamed up with Biomotion Solutions to provide the SIMPACK user with the option of using the biomechanical human body models which can be used to analyse ride comfort, handling, occupational safety and other man-machine interactions. A compatible human-body-model generator is available at www.biomotion-solutions.com

There are specific models which consist of:

  • Biomotion Car Driver for SIMPACK is a unique solution to analyse the driver-steering interaction in an MBS-simulation. Implementing a human driver model as an "actuator" for the steering wheel in a SIMPACK car model enables the analysis of the mechanical interaction between the driver and the vehicle. As acceleration values for steering wheel, back and headrest are strongly influenced by the driver, the Biomotion Car Driver enhances the prediction quality of simulation based drivability rating.

  • Biomotion Hand-Arm System (HAS) for Power Tools is a motion controller designed for Biomotion Force Elements. This allows a virtual human operator to hold a power tool in a desired working pose with one or both hands, while maintaining predefined forces. The controller is designed to be used with handheld power tools for vibration exposure minimisation or handling comfort optimisation, and can also be used for power tool performance optimisation.

  • The Biomotion Motorcycle Rider provides a highly detailed rider model, designed for motorcycle dynamics analysis using SIMPACK Automotive. This module allows the virtual Rider to steer the bike by arm movements and not only by artificial steering axis torque. Thus, MC-Rider accounts for realistic Rider-handlebars interaction, and makes it easier to study resonance effects that may lead to unstable riding models.
