Last week saw SSA and Simpleware host another one of our Non-Linear Oil & Gas events. It was great to see a full room of engineers, who were all very upbeat about the state of the oil price and projects which was very refreshing, not the doom and gloom we had been hearing at the end of last year. What also lifted our spirits was the sun shining which everybody was commenting on due to its rare occurrence!
Every time I go to Aberdeen it always amazes me as the sheer magnitude of consolidation of businesses in one place all focusing on Oil & Gas production. Just from my last visit a few months back, buildings and offices just seem to be springing up from the ground like fertile seeds.
The event had a great balance of open discussions from the delegates, lectures and hands on tutorials for both Abaqus and Simpleware. I would like to thank Rebecca and Steve from Simpleware for participating in the event. It was really interesting to see how there technology was helping companies across the globe.
Also a special thanks to Sam for soldering on through the day as he was really not feeling very well but still managed to give a lecture on Non-Linear and run the hands on tutorial session. The hands on session gave the delegates the opportunity to have a go at using Abaqus by undertaking some tutorials relating to their engineering challenges.
